Charter for The Stormhammer
Clan
Purpose
To create a cohesive guild in order to address the needs of the
members, be they hunting partners, equipment, information, or mutual
defense, for the good of the whole.
Also to create a fellowship for justice, to defend the goodly
races of Norrath, and to do war upon the forces of evil, however they
may manifest.

Membership
Gaining Membership:
In order to be admitted to the Clan, the following steps must be taken:

A Tempest Guardsman must be contacted,
either through an existing Clan member or directly. This
Guardsman, if he/she deems the petitioner worthy, will invite on
a probationary basis. The probationary period is 2 weeks.

The Guardsman will then post the
petitioners stats, as well as the date invited, and the reasons
for granting entry, in The
Senate portion of the message board. The only replies to this
post allowed will be a vote of yes or no, with reasons for a
negative vote.

Once the 2 weeks is up, the vote will be
tallied. The petitioner will be advised of their status as
a full Brother or Sister of the Storm, or will have their tag
removed.
The Clan is honorable, and will consider all, regardless of race
or class. Only roleplaying ability and nobility of spirit will
determine the membership.
Losing Membership:
Loss of membership can only occur in one of two ways: Voluntary
forfeit, and by decree of the Tempest Guard.
In order for a decree to be put into effect, the matter must be
voted on by the Tempest Guard and the Thane (each has one vote,
including Thane). If, by a 75% vote, it is determined that the member must be
evicted, it shall be so. Tempest
Guard voting will be done in The
Senate message board.
Duties
Of Brothers and Sisters of the Storm:
Firstly, this is a roleplaying guild.
All discussions on guild chat will be conducted with this feel,
so as to give flavor to both the characters and the game itself. Entertainment is the key, and this will ensure that.
If a discussion must be made out of character, it should be
prefaced by OOC: (not /ooc, this removes you from guild chat).
The main duty is to the Clan.
All practical efforts to assist fellow Clan mates is the utmost
priority. This does not,
however require a member to drop what he is doing and run 3 zones to
give a heal or a bind. If
in the same zone, however, it is expected that all efforts will be made.
Also, if possible, it is expected that you will group with
members of the clan. This
does not mean exclusively, nor does it mean you will be required to
group with members far above or below you in experience.
As stated, all practical efforts.
On the matter of loot, it is much the same.
An effort must be made to sell loot within the Clan. This does not mean that members are required to take a loss
on their loot. It simply
stated that it should be offered on guild chat first.
If no sale can be negotiated, then it can be sold on the open
market. Gifts of equipment
are allowed, even encouraged, but are not required by any stretch of the
imagination.
Going anonymous is strictly forbidden.
This hides the guild tag, and this is unacceptable.
Roleplaying mode, however, is accepted, as it allows the display
of the tag while allowing privacy.
The Stormhammer Clan is an honorable guild, and all should be proud to
show their membership.
Lastly, it is the duty of
any Brother or Sister of the Storm to comply with any decree of the
Tempest Guard. Appeals may
be made of any decree, and will be looked into by the Guard and the
Thane, but compliance of all decrees is necessary until such time as
they are repealed. Decrees
are voted upon within the The
Senate, and any may view the proceedings.

Of The Tempest Guard:
All Tempest Guard must adhere to the above duties.
In addition, they have the duty of inducting new Clanmates.
The closest Guardsman to a petitioner must make every effort to
visit that petitioner as soon as possible . This does not mean leaving your group to travel seven zones,
nor does it mean you must meet them face to face.
If their worthiness can be determined from discussion from afar,
and with the member giving testimony, presence in the same zone is
sufficient. If the
petitioner is of a Dark Race, the matter will be put to vote among the
Tempest Guard currently online, over guild chat.
Only after an affirmative vote will a Guardsman be dispatched to
grant membership.
It is also the duty of all Guardsmen to visit the The Senate on a
regular basis. Votes on
decrees, and decrees themselves will be posted there before they make it
to the clan website, and these require the attention of all Guardsmen.
It is a duty to vote, for the Tempest Guard represents the clan
in these matters.
Lastly, it is a duty to notify the rest of the clan on matters of
importance, and to represent them before the Thane.
No one person can know all, and it is the Guards duty to be
both the ears of the Thane and the voice of the Brothers and Sisters.
Of the Thane:
The Thane must adhere to all above duties.
In addition, he must be the final arbitrator of justice, and an
example to the rest of the Stormhammer Clan.
He must hear the words of the Tempest Guard, and abide by the
decisions of the Guard, even should they be arbitrary to his personal
wishes. He will not go into
roleplay mode, as he must be accessible for as long as he is online. It is also his responsibility to award those who stand out
among their peers, including the selection of the Tempest Guard.
All that being said, this is the true purpose to
which The Stormhammer Clan shall bend its might: Have fun. There are a lot of rules, but if they are followed, a spirit
of camaraderie will be created, and it shall enhance the enjoyment of
